Peace Basketball League

The Peace Basketball League for 1st thru 8th graders offers high level basketball instruction, well-balanced competition, organized and thoughtful scheduling, energetic and engaged coaches/referees and great fun! Teams will be grade* based.
 
*Grades may be combined based on numbers.

2024-2025 PBL Season

November 23 – March 2, including playoffs

One practice one evening a week and one game on the weekend at a local gym.


The Stamford JCC will accommodate Sabbath observes with Sunday only scheduling.

$215 Early Bird: thru Sept. 20
$240 Sept. 21 - Nov. 1
$255 Post Nov. 2

Player Evaluations

Evaluations will be held for ALL players.
Players in 7th & 8th grade, NBA division, will be drafted.
All players (new and returning) in 7th and 8th grade should attend the draft.
If your child cannot attend the evaluations, they will still be placed on a team.

Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3
Yerwood Center • 90 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford

Evaluation times are as follows:
1st Grade • 9 - 9:45 a.m.
2nd Grade • 10 - 10:45 a.m.
3rd & 4th Grade • 11 - 11:45 a.m.
5th & 6th Grade • 12 – 12:45 p.m.
7th & 8th Grade • 1 – 1:45 p.m.

Volunteer Coach Sign Up

Share your love and knowledge of the game! Sign up to coach a team!  Volunteer coaches needed in all divisions.

Code Of Conduct For Players

As a player in the PBL:

1. Play by the rules.
2. Value team success, safety and fair play above personal gain.
3. Accept the authority and respect the decisions of all game officials.
4. Never use abusive or foul language.
5. Be a good sport. Applaud all good play.
6. Treat all participants as you would like to be treated.
7. Always cooperate with your coach and teammates.
8. Always participate for your own enjoyment and benefit.

Code Of Conduct For Spectators

As a parent and/or spectators:

1. Support your child and his team in a positive manner. Cheer for your child and team, not against the opposing team.
2. Show respect for all players, coaches, game officials and other spectators. Set a positive example with your behavior.
3. Respect the decisions of all game officials and encourage others to do so.
4. Recognize that the children are participating for fun and their own enjoyment.
5. Abide by all regulations of all facilities with respect to facility usage.

Code Of Conduct For Coaches

As a coach of the PBL

  1. Set a positive example for the players and spectators to follow.
  2. Head coaches are responsible for their own conduct as well as the conduct of their assistant coaches, players, and spectators affiliated with the team.
  3. Coaches must stay off the court and remain on their respective sideline.
  4. Play by the rules.  Respect the decision of all officials. Do not shout at officials or otherwise interfere with the game, and encourage others to do so.
  5. Promote good sportsmanship, and coach in a positive manner.
  6. Treat opposing coaches, participants and spectators with respect.
  7. Congratulate all players on their performance.
  8. Coaches along with officials should make every effort to ensure the games are safe and fair.
  9. Alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.
