Beyond Limits Academics

Our Mission

At Beyond Limits, our mission is to help local students develop academic confidence -- with a focus on students eligible for free or reduced-price school lunch -- through our provision of high-quality, subsidized, peer-to-peer academic tutoring, enrichment programming, informal mentoring, and academic advocacy.

Our Program

Launched in 2013, the Beyond Limits Academic Program provides highly subsidized one-on-one tutoring, primarily in math and science, enrichment activities and informal mentoring to students attending our local public schools. Tutoring is typically conducted by Stamford Public School’s upperclassmen, including members of the National Honor Society, and by college students, many of whom are referred by teachers, administrators, and other tutors.  Sessions are held either remotely or at Stamford Peace’s Long Ridge Road headquarters, which includes a dedicated tutoring room and large classroom equipped with computers, school supplies, and other program materials. The facility also includes a lounge area with free Wi-Fi for parents, a kitchen area stocked with complimentary snacks and beverages, and a fitness room.  Please click HERE to view our most recent program highlights.

There is a reason why corporations pay millions of dollars for sponsorships each year -- it works! Sponsorships increase brand awareness and pay significant returns. ACADEMIC TUTORING

  • We provide Individualized academic tutoring in math & science – generally two 1-hour sessions per week per participant, available on any day Monday thru Saturday on a personalized schedule.
  • Tutoring is conducted “peer-to-peer”, i.e. our tutors are high-achieving local high school juniors, seniors and local college students assigned to 4th thru 12th graders. Tutors and tutees rotate – with pairings based upon our assessment of current best “fit.”
  • Tutoring sessions can take place in person in our tutoring center, or remotely via Zoom, which can allow for some greater flexibility and convenience.
  • Tutoring fees are on a sliding scale (see below) and are substantially subsidized for families who are eligible to receive free or reduced-price school lunch.
  • Our approach contributes valuable informal mentoring benefits.

Our enrichment and summer programs supplement our regular tutoring and academic intervention programming. To be added to our mailing list and receive updates on program offerings, please email and/or follow up on social media.

Enrichment Programming

We offer enrichment activities on a variety of topics, including:

  • computer coding classes;
  • writing workshops;
  • college planning workshops;
  • time management and organizational skills workshops;
  • and more!

SUMMER PROGRAMMING

Our current summer programming includes:

  • ongoing remote academic tutoring; and
  • our 1-week middle school and high school preparatory academies designed to help orient Stamford Public School incoming 6th graders (Middle School Summer Scholars Program), which includes tutorials in time management, organization, note taking, study skills and more.
